XF 2.2 Problem with playing MOV files

Hello,

My forum correctly plays all video files except MOV.

I have tried to solve it through the administration panel but I can't find any option regarding this.

Can anybody help me please?

How exactly are MOV files played incorrectly?

MOV is just a container format, it can contain H.264 - but quite often it is HEVC/H.265 which is not supported by every browser.

Well, these files can´t be played, an the Play button isn´t clickable. See image:



And when I quote the post and click on the link:



then the browser open a new windows to download the vídeo!

So I guess the only solution is to not allow the upload of these files, and show users a message: "Files of type. mov are not allowed. Please use another format. We suggest MP4".

I hate MOV. There are no reasons for its existence.
