XF 2.2 prevent new members start a conversation until x days

Is there a way to set that new registered member cannot start a conversation until they has been a member for at least 7 days?

The same way you prevent new users from doing any particular thing until they meet whatever criteria - user promotion.

That addon does not do what the OP asked. The correct solution is what @Matthew S posted.

This and other similar questions keep coming up so to flesh the response out a bit ...

1. Set the Start conversations permission for the Registered user group to No
2. Create a new user group - let's call it Established members
3. Set the Start conversations permission for the Established members user group to Yes
4. Create a User group promotion to promote members to the Established members user group using the User has been registered for at least X days criterion and set it to 7

The same approach can be used for other permissions and criteria.

Always remove the permission from the Registered user group and add it to a new user group, and combine it with a promotion.
