Hi, is resource manager a similar system to what you are using to allow plugins for xenforo? I'm trying to allow users to post their own content and get paid for it.
I'm looking at the demo to see the resources section (didn't know it was a thing) and I'm a little confused. Is there not a way for purchases and downloads to be managed through the site rather than redirecting to a poster's own site?
There is kind of a workaround though, useful if you only have a few things to sell via downloads.
We do this via the user upgrade > usergroup promotion system.
Users can buy various different upgrades (you can choose the payment option e.g. PayPal, Stripe etc.). Once purchased they are automatically given a secondary user group.
In permissions you can set the different groups to have download permissions per resource category. And you set your downloads to be in different categories.
So for example
user upgrade A pays X and gets permissions to view/download Resource category A
user upgrade B pays Y and gets permissions to view/download Resource category B
I don't think that would be a problem using the workaround posted above, it's a separate permission to download resources. But as mentioned, this is a workaround that may or may not work for you depending on the number of downloads.
This addon may be easier to handle for what you want:
