Posting Twitter Links

I know this is posted in the wrong spot BUT the owners of the forum are not hugely technical and I offered to chase it up for them and as a third party helping out I can't post where this should be posted.

I'm a member of a XenForo forum and we have trouble posting twitter links. Basically the preview appears and the content and link there is correct BUT the link that appears above the preview is parsed incorrectly and this is confusing some members.

We post something like...

Code:
https://twitter.com/Schuldensuehner/status/1231830716390035456

and it gets parsed to...

Code:
https://twitter.com/statuses/1231830716390035456

Which isn't valid.

Is this a config issue of some sort? If so where should I get them to look.

Thanks in advance.

I've found the template editor and the template _media_site_embed_twitter. I guess that copying the code off the demo site and transferring it to ours might fix the issue we have.

Am I on the right track?

The problem is, we don't know what version it is, what sort of add-ons they have installed and other variables. This is really something that either the owners would need to contact us about or, at the minimum, they would need to add you as a "forum user" in their customer account which would then connect you to their license for purposes of posting in the support forums.

It's very unlikely that this code has been customized, unless they're running an add-on that provides alternative functionality, so it's very hard to say really.
