Now that the thread list pages are cleaned up a bit, there's actually room to lower the new thread button on pages with sub-forums. This button was placed there below the subforums at a time when there wasn't room to place it directly above the threads. It's also possible now to reduce the space between the sub-forums and the thread list, which was also increased to make room for two rows of navigation, which is now only one row.
