Positioning new categories

I am trying to create and position a new category for my boards, I have only had XF up and running since last night so I am still learning.

I have gone into the node tree, created a new category and tried positioning it changing the numbers but have only been able to move it down so far and cannot get it past where it is at.

Can anyone please advise how to do this?

You probably have another node ordered with a greater number.
That node and any more with greater number will display below the one you are trying to place.

You can see the order you have in the node tree, in the admin cp (admin control panel)
admincp / Appplications (top navbar) / Display Node tree

Whichever nodes show on the node tree BELOW your chosen nopde, have a higher order number.
Unfortunately XF does not display this order number on the list. You have to go into the lower nodes to see what their numbers are.
