XF 1.2 Polls display publicly?

I ran a poll and did not check the option to display the results publicly. But after voting I can see see the results. And when I log out as a guest, I can see the results then as well.

What am I doing wrong here?

The option is to display who voted for what option. There's no option to control whether the aggregate results can be viewed.

Some things which could affect that are outdated templates, a customisation, or an add-on.

Correction, it may not be. I just did a test poll and see this

is what you mean by it being a public poll. If this is selected then yes it works now. Perhaps the wording should be changed as this suggests the viewing of the votes themselves is public and not who voted.

Is there a way to change this option after a poll has been opened and it wasn't selected at first??

You can make a public poll private but not vice versa.
Well, not without editing the database.
