Implemented Please provide the Standard URL option

I hope there will be an option in the admin cp to choose Standard URLs. I really dislike Friendly URLs and hope we are not forced to use them on our own forums.

Perhaps Kier or Mike could provide and example of what the Standard URL would look like to display the following:

1) a forum
2) a thread
3) a post within a thread
4) an attachment

I tend to ignore how the URL looks in full. Not saying it's a bad thing though.

I agree, they don't look that good when shortened (although most URL's won't). However they do look good in the address bar and places where they are displayed in full.

Sure human readable URLs are more "friendly", but the main benefit of including the title in the URL is anchor text. Search "click here" with your favorite search engine. The first result will be Adobe Acrobat. Not because 'click here' is relevant to Adobe Acrobat, but because of all the sites with the anchor text, "click here" linking to the Acrobat page.

Consider there are 10 other sites linking to this thread using the URL above. The anchor words are "implemented, please, provide, the, standard, url, option" (you could argue that "the" need not be included). Why is this important? Say someone searches for "xenforo standard url". Their odds of finding this topic are greatly increased.
