PHP 5.3

Just bought XenForo which says it requires PHP 5.4 or higher.
Our current vBulletin cannot be updated due to lack of licensing.
We're currently using PHP 5.3.
Can we install XenForo with PHP 5.3 just long enough to get the test site fully themed and functional before switching over?
After the migration to XenForo is completed, we can then update PHP to the 7.x.

Not with XF2. XF2 strictly requires PHP 5.4+.
You could create your theme locally, though. And then just upgrade PHP and your forum together.
