XF 2.1 Photo quality in forum

Hi!

I have a forum about photography and I configured it to resize the pics at 1024 max. If you upload a pic to the forum, you can notice a lose of quality. If you insert the BBCODE from flickr you can also notice that quality lose.

Any idea about how can I solve it?

Well the loss of quality is to be expected if you are limiting images to such a small size.

Increase the values permitted for maximum dimensions and file size.

which would be a good compromise between quality and size? If users upload pics like they do it know I will have a bandwith and disk space problem.

There is a compromise to be had.
A large file size is irrelelvant to those using hand-held devices or the average monitor as the photos will not display as intended.
Also, re bandwidth, a lot of people have caps on their data usage and large downloads to their browsers will quickly use up their available data allowance. Something to bear in mind.
