XF 2.1 Paste image in status / profile posts

In the user status / profile posts, it's possible to add an image if you have the URL. However, it doesn't seem possible to paste an image into the editor and have it upload the same way you can in a post.

Is this something that can be enabled? If so, how?

No, it's not possible.

Only embedding is possible, not direct attachments.
