Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR

Hello, I was recovering my server's htaccess files, that seems that our host messed with all of them, and after I did that, the forums started to give an error, so we updated the installation from the 1.0.0 to the 1.0.1

The thing is that the error continues to show up, in this case in the install.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in/homepages/23/d338650016/htdocs/superb/xen/install/index.phpon line8

Anyone knows how to fix this?

I've seen that before but it was due to MySQL being too low a version, and possibly PHP: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-t_object_operator.12770/

Check your PHP version is at least 5.2.4.

How was the installation working before?

Has the server software been downgraded?

Yes, it worked a week ago, and if it was downgraded, it's 1and1's fault...
