When was there ever a Palestine? The US was founded in 1776. When was Palestine founded? Where was the capitol?
Seriously, we've already gone back 2600 years and there was never a Palestine.
They don't have any other means to fight back, it's an occupation by a vastly superior force, they're using the tools at their disposal.
Occupation by whom? Israelis and Palestinians are the same people. They've both been on the same dirt for thousands of years.
The way this story seems to be told is that prior to 1948, there was a perfectly happy muslim country called Palestine, inhabited by a 100% muslim population. Then the evil UN came in and create Israel as no country has ever been created before. All of the inhabitants were rounded up and forced out of the country. Then German Mayflowers filled with European Jews landed and populated Israel. Is that the fairy tale?
How about there never was a Palestine. There was a British territory created in 1920 called the Palestinian Mandate. Prior to that, it was the Ottoman Empire for several hundred years. In this territory, Arabs, Jews and Christians peacefully coexisted as one people.
26 years later, the territory was partitioned. Some of it went to Syria, some to Iraq. The western portion became Jordan and two years later, the eastern territory became Israel. BTW, during this time period, Britain was doing this all over the world. Just ask India, Pakistan and Burma. Did you know that between 1945 and 1965, the number of people under British rule outside the UK itself fell from 700 million to five million. It was a period of active decolonization.
So why did British grant Israel its independence? Its wasn't holocaust guilt, which is what most uninformed people in the west believe. Its because the Zionist groups organized and fought the British for their independence. And here's the kicker. Britain left and turned the territory over to the UN, which recognized Israel, but smarting from their defeat, the Brits voted against it.
Clandestinely, it was the British who assisted Mohammad Amin al-Husayni spurring the 1947/48 civil war. They also had selective blindness when it came to overlooking the involvement of foreign Arab fighters, such as the Syrians. Without this British involvement, the civil war may never have happened.
So the true villain in this isn't Israel or the US, it was British Imperialism. Their backdoor support of the '47-'48 civil war is the Mideast equivalent to the war of 1812.
