XF 1.4 paid members not dropping back to registered once membership runs out help please

as above ive just noticed on the dev xf site after a import from vb, which we are still doing stuff too that the paid members are not dropping back to the registered group when membership runs out is there a setting somewhere?? this is fine for admin/mods etc but not for paid members, any help as always is appreciated xf community thamx

Some possible explanations:

1) They never had an active upgrade (ie the import didn't preserve it):

Admin CP -> Users -> List Active Upgrades

2) They had an active upgrade but it isn't yet expired:

Admin CP -> Users -> List Active Upgrades

3) This cron is failing to run or has not yet run:

Admin CP -> Tools -> Cron Entries -> Downgrade Expired User Upgrades

Note that the cron system is driven by forum activity, so these tasks might be delayed on a dev site that is mostly inactive.

ok thx jake basically i ran the permissions on the expired members and they still had full access, ideally id need this working otherwise its a manual delete and with 400 members all finishing on different days this could be a faff, it copied them over fine from vb but its not putting paid members back as registered after, as i said this is good for mods admin, as we can manually move them, but paid members need to automatically go back to registered, is there a bit of code or a box somewhere to tick to do it??, id say option 3 of yours isnt working mateu

ok tried manually running option 3, it said it was successful but it doesnt work they stay in the expired list and stay in the paid members and have to be moved manually to registered

Given that this is an import, it's possible the changes will need to be made manually when it comes to the existing users; there are various setups that simply can't be imported fully.
