[oxy] News Portal [Paid] [Deleted]

Oxy has given me full access to the purchase and download manager used to handle the sale of this add-on, I also have access to the development site - where I can see the progress of the featured slider and a new layout. The image resizer is taking up most of my time at the moment, after that I should be able to release features/updates more frequently. There are so many things to consider when efficiently resizing images, not filling up your server with lots of thumbnails for a start!

I have already written to Oxy today to see how things are going, but she is in the US, so wouldn't expect a response yet anyway.

I will let you know when I hear back. :)
 
I'd like to ask everyone interested in beta testing the next release to PM/Inbox me on here, and also include the email registered to your purchase so I can verify an order before sending you the beta.

As well as the new image resizer/cacher, this release will also include falling back to embedded images (i.e. in IMG tags) if there are no attachments :)

it's possibile to have three column in News container? I have changed width of Article container in Style property but nothing change.

EDIT I have solved, i have changed CSS in template page and not in style property :)

The next version which I am currently beta testing with a few members supports embedded images. It shouldn't be long now.

If you are interested, PM/inbox me your email used to purchase the add-on and I can send you the beta to try. :)
 
New update release 1.13, thanks to all beta testers who helped to test this prior to release. Changelog below:

New Features:
  • Image resizer and cacher, reduces front page load times and bandwidth
  • Includes support for external attachment storage like [bd] Attachment Store
  • Adds support for Nobita's Scheduled Post
  • Embedded image (IMG tag) can now be used as fallback if there are no attachments.
  • Navigation tab added, enable in the ACP settings. (Can also be renamed there).
  • If an image attachment is embedded, it will be used as the article image. (You can use this to control which image is shown, as the first attachment found embedded in the post, will always be used as the article image)
Fixes:
  • Small typo in SQL query
  • Attachment is now checked to make sure it is an image
  • Clearer setting explanations

As always if you find any bugs just drop me a message on here, or post up and I'll get on to it as soon as I can :)

I likely missed this in the thread but how are the updates being distributed to prior customers? Last email link I received was back on Feb 3.
 
I have issued new updates, if you don't receive an email in the next hour or so, you should still be able to use the link you most recently received.

Failing that, message me your email address used to purchase and I will force an updated link to be sent.

I think the download/purchase manager only sends out links to those who have visited since the last update was pushed. Otherwise the last link you received by email should still work.

Look for version 1.13 in the download list, any problems just let me know. :)

Not yet, the image resizer/cacher took a bit longer to get working properly than I had planned.

I have already begun work on the next release though, I have implemented the sticky system and am also trying to work on handling different forums for a featured slider or different columns, etc.

I will keep you all posted on the progress and may ask for beta testers again, depending on how much code has been changed/added to get the features working :)
