I am talking about "Notices" in the context of ...
When and how to employ them.
What people have tried and what were the implications.
Did someone have a "Black Friday" notice and how did it drive sales that day ?
How did they target the users with the messages ...
etc.
etc.

I'm not talking just .html

Notices are very powerful. With great power comes great responsibility. Poorly deployed Notices will annoy people. Admins aren't perfect and can easily learn about others mistakes and successes.

I have a question, please:

how do I put a Notice into a "Category" ONLY, not showing this Notice within the "Forums" of that specific "Category" ?

Many thanks!

A couple of notice criteria questions.

With Xenporta installed as my homepage, how would I get the notice to just display on there?

How would I get a notice to display just on the main forum index page rather than on the forum/thread pages?

Also when entering links in the notice html area, is there a shortcut for URLs internal to our site (some sort of xenlink syntax?) or do I just enter the full URL?

How can I find out which template to edit?
Using your browser, view the page source and look for a line of code near the top of the page which begins
<div id="content" class="; the class is the name of the template. So for the main forum page, the line of code is:
<div id="content" class="forum_list">, which makes the template forum_list.

So we just specify the template in the page criteria section? Will it accept multiple values and how do we specify them?

Edit: Putting in multiple comma separated values for "Content Template is:" doesn't seem to work.

I think for this site:
