XF 2.1 Notice if Node has threads?

Afternoon!

Is there a way I can create a Notice that will appear everywhere on the forum if a certain node has any quantity of threads?
So if Node1 has more than 0 threads, it'll show the notice.

I've had a play around but can't seem to see a way to achieve this unless anyone may have any suggestions other than via an addon?

Notices don't support custom conditional statements but you could use an ad slot, widget, or template edit utilising forum.discussion_count .
