Admin Panel -> Groups & permissions -> Permissions -> User group permissions -> Registered (or any other user group) -> Signature permissions -> Maximum text size (1 - 7)

If you limit this to 3, for example, it does not remove the options from the "edit signature" page. That's fine, but what's annoying is that no error is even displayed when you go over the limit from choosing one of the options that shouldn't be available from the FONT SIZE dropdown menu.

The page just refreshes and changes the text back to the default size. This causes unnecessary confusion.

Thank you for reporting this issue. When a signature uses a font size above the group's maximum, the size is lowered to the maximum when you save and no message is shown. This is how the limit currently works, rather than a fault, but it is a fair point that the other signature limits show an error and this one doesn't.
