Any update on this?

I would like to get this add on working though you are still not responding to my support queries.
 
is this addon only going fpr new registration ?? or is it also going for reg. users how change the groups?

It doesn't support any BB-code, links or images. It also doesn't send a message to people that registered through Facebook. The developer said he's going to change it few months ago, but I guess it's not really going to happen.
 
To say that I have been patient about this mod is an understatement. Three months on and the developer has still not fixed the mod or offered to resolve the issue. And he point blank refuses to give a refund (granted, it's not much - but it's the principle of paying for something that does not work).

This is a big problem. I have purchased dozens of add ons from XenForo developers and I want to support the community, however the owners of Xenforo need to get more involved in this. If developers are releasing add ons that have been proven not to work, they should be removed from the resource area. At the very least, developers who refuse to give refunds for add ons that do not work should not be allowed to continue selling.

That is a lie.

I initially refused as you wanted access to a sensitive area that had payment area. When you refused to help and explained you would need to see the situation yourself, I said that I would give you full access. When I told you this, you then said that I should contact you in a few weeks (my last post to you was on December 30 2013 in this thread - you can see in black and white that I offered you direct access to my forum). We are nearly into March and you are still refusing to help.

It is also worth pointing out that I had already paid for this add on and you said my access had expired. After you convinced me to renew, you then refused to fix the problem.

Anyone can see from my responses on this thread and on the initial thread on the forum that that is not the case. Check back on this thread and you will see that I offered full access. It's there for everyone to see so I do not see you can argue otherwise.

Indeed. After having a look at the forum the problem was that @System0 uses a third party script, amember, to create new users for his forum. And my mod, like all the other mods coded by xenforo, is meant to work only with vanilla out of the box xenforo and not with third party scripts and/or mods. Anyway, this issue has been cleared up now :)
 
I am pleased to say that I resolved the issue with Borbole. We both spoke on Skype and agreed that we had been a bit silly about it all.

I tested the plugin on my forum again by creating a user directly through the forum admin panel and the plugin worked. With my forum, new users are registered through amember and then created through XenForo using those details. This automatically pulls all data from amember and creates a new user with all the correct information, however the welcome message add on does not work correctly with the script.

I imagine that it would work if the sync script was adapted, so I may speak to a developer and see if they can adapt it. The addon works directly through amember but 99% of registrations will be going through amember, so I cannot use the add on as it stands. Still, I cannot complain about the add on as works with vanilla XenForo.

Kudos to Borbole for contacting me today and resolving the issue :)

The thing is that not all users want the new versions as it has been my experience in the past. So who wants the new version please send me a pm and I will email it to you.

In the latest updated version that I just released the new user(s) will be alerted about their welcome thread(s) through the user tagging alert.
