XF 1.5 New Posts link, links to New Threads?

I'm probably missing something obvious but why does the "New Posts" link in the menu show new threads instead of posts? Also the resulting list does not link to the new post within the thread. It just takes you to the thread. So why wasn't this simply named "New Threads" ? We found a thread in this forum asking how to add an item to the menu for "Latest Threads": https://xenforo.com/community/threads/add-latest-threads-to-navbar.8502/

Turns out this links to a completely different URL:
    Latest Threads: https://www.domain.com/find-new/threads?days=30
    New Posts: https://www.domain.com/find-new/posts

...Yet they both send you to a page that show the exact same thing. The same list of threads.

Also: Right sidebar forum home page "New Posts" links properly to actual post within a thread.

New Posts link in Menu should:

    1) Show a list of new "Posts", not new threads
    2) Items in that list should link to the new "Post", not the first page of the thread.

Profiles differentiate content based on thread or post, so this is totally doable.

    What am I missing?

New Posts lists threads with new posts. Clicking the thread title will take you to the latest post.

Perhaps you changed the default behavior by editing the template?

The default behavior includes /unread in the URL, as seen here:

If you're not seeing that, check on the default style. If it appears there, again, it's possible you may have changed the behavior, perhaps by accident.

Ok the part I was missing is that its going to the first post in every thread because I had not read anything in any of those threads yet.

    Got it thank you.
