XF 1.2 Need help installing XenForo.

I just purchased a Xenforo license and followed the instructions given to me on this page; Xenforo.com/help/installation

I've done the steps to the point I have to go to URL type my domain and install XenForo but it's not working, do I need to put the install files in another directory?

If you want to know I made a new directory in var/www/ called forums and put the install files in forums directory.

var/www/forums

If you want the installation to be in the /forums directory then that is correct.

As I responded to you in the conversation, your domain does not resolve.

You will need to get it set up correctly before you can install the software.

It does not resolve because there is no forums installed on the domain.

My domain works perfectly fine as I use it for a game I run.

The fact that the software is not installed is irrelevant.

The root domain does not resolve for me.
