Closed Names with underscore _ not found in search

I am finding that names with underscore_which_are_often_used are not found when you search but minus sign - are found and even back slashes.
So when I search for waterfall it is not found if the name is waterfall_1 but it is found if the name is waterfall-1

Is there a plugin that cleans media names?

Thank you for reporting this issue. Search counts an underscore as part of a word, so a title like waterfall_1 is stored as one word and doesn't match waterfall on its own. A hyphen splits words, which is why waterfall-1 is found. A wildcard search such as waterfall* will match the underscored titles.
