MyGallery - Feature Storm

Looking very nice. We are looking for a decent but simple gallery for our website at the moment.

ArnyVee will have more info to announce soon but this is starting as a stand alone, I will convert it to a XenForo integrated mod, no there will be no bridging.

Now the first screenshot is here:

I think that consistency is key. How about to truncate the title after a certain amount of letters, so that all images align in a row? The same applies to the description.

I would believe that is already in place.

Gallery should be as easy to use as XFR User Albums.

Would be cool if it had the album thumbnail that shows multiple photos within the album upon hover too.

What about the Add to Gallery button is a select box, so the user can add to the default directory OR specify which one they want?
Sure.

What about 3 options:
(1) a Community Gallery album (might be fun) - no subalbums, just one location.
(2) a Default Gallery album.
(3) a specific album.

I'd like an albumless gallery myself.

community gallery, for contests and for pictures of cute kittens?

That would be a permissions based issue and definitely can be implemented. With something like, user must be logged in and have X number of posts before being able to post an image to the community gallery.

I think that each forum / website should have the flexibility to choose how they set up their software. Some forums may want only community galleries, or only member galleries. So I think the best way to implement this is to support the options and let the website owner decide.

Ideally people could "Watch" the Communal gallery. It could be sort of like an Instagram thing. It could be an image-based JOKE thing (like Xenforo's LOL thread). Some forums could use it to post the latest picture of their dog. Others might post a picture of an effective bikini model. Images can be very powerful.

One of the key features is having new images show up in the "what's new?" section. i.e. Digital Doctor posted an image, titled "New puppy" in the Member's Pets Gallery And with a thumbnail of the image, next to the line.

If a member comments on an image, should the comment cross post into the forum?

Neal, do you currently have a gallery software that you are using?

What would be the top feature you would want for your forum?

We are currently using the "User Albums" add-on at the moment.

I'd like a gallery that has likes, comments, nice category layouts and that resizes images.

Actually, User Albums seems to do just that ;)

I haven't seen the User Albums addon and don't know the included features. If there is something that User Albums doesn't have and you would like, let us know. Always open to suggestions.

I feel that MyGallery that was being developed will never see the light of day. However, I have been approached by another developer to take over MyPoints and MyShop. I have agreed and they will release an update once this whole case is over with and they renew their license. Therefore, I am going to start building MyGallery in my spare time from the ground up starting in November, more than likely the second week of November I will start work on it.
