Nice choice. Looks like a Yamaha VStar. After dealing with chains for years I figured out shaft drive was the way to go. Yes, it robs you of some horse power but for a cruiser that's not that important... and if you got enough ponies on tap, even the shaft can "get you there" in a hurry.

My very first vehicle was a Kawasaki KZ400 Deluxe (touring bike) (4 cylinder and it was SO much fun synching the carbs).
Was identical to this one.

I've ridden street bikes since I was 15.... my last was a Yamaha FJR that I finally had to give up due to my knees acting up.
This is from a trip to W. Virginia to meet up with a bunch of "Dark Side" Goldwing riders (before this I had a 2005 Goldwing). Stopped off at a few distilleries on the way back (no, did not consume any of their product).
The trip up there I did in one ride - almost 1200 miles straight. In never turned my receipts or documentation in to become an "official" Iron Butt rider though.

I am thinking of buying a Triumph 900 GT Rally Pro early next year, Used to have a BMW Air Cooled GS Adventure but sold it a few years back now

And if your into bikes, one thing I brought some 4+ years back when they first came out was a Reevu helmet

Has mirrors in it (no batteries required) so a Heads up Display of behind you in your helmet, takes a little bit of getting used to but once you have used one you'll love it (well at least I did!)
