XF 1.2 Multiple Licenses, One Package?

I have got two XF licenses and I plan on using them both. Back from vBulletin I know that you had to use the package that belongs to your license as the cookie salt was your MD5'd customer's number.

I found out that both my XF packages have different sizes and that they do differ in quite a way when I binary compare them (using Total Commander).

Well long story short: Is there something like a copy protection in? Is it just to verify where the ZIP file came from or are there in fact differences in the files themselves?

I'm asking because it would be way more convenient to just have the same package for both my installations.

Wherever possible you should use the package/files associated with the license.
