Multiple forums on subfolders of single domain

Hello
I want 3 separated forums with different content on subfolders of single doman. I need it to separate users from different countries.

domain.com/1/forum1
domain.com/2/forum2
domain.com/3/forum3

Do i need to buy 3 license?

The Pre-Sales FAQ covers that question.

5. How many installations can I make with a single license?
Each license permits you to install the software once. However, you may create additional test installations for testing purposes only. Any test installation of this kind must be password protected, and access to it must be limited to you and your website staff. See the License Agreement for the entire scope.

6. Can multiple domains or subdomains be used with a single license?
Yes, as long as the domains or subdomains all resolve to the same installation, all of the content is available at every domain or subdomain, and there is no attempt to make them appear as separate installations.

Do you intend on these forums to be actually three separate installations of XenForo?

Or, if you had the ability to do it through one installation, is that something you would prefer (this would mean that while the user database would be shared, you could still separate different subfolders based on country/etc)...?

There are a couple of ways to do what it sounds like you wanted, without having to purchase multiple XenForo licenses/without violating the XenForo licensing TOS, however knowing a bit more details surrounding what your requirements would be, would be very helpful in coming up with alternate solutions if purchasing multiple XenForo licenses is not something you want to do.

Maybe if everything looked the same and was at the same URL structure but upon registration they select a country and they get access to different sets of forum nodes by permissions. Otherwise it would be separate installations I think.

Yeah, again there's a couple of ways to accomplish this - such as for example basically doing country-based detection upon registration/whatever and then tossing users based on their country into separate user groups, and having categories/sections only display to those users. This would essentially accomplish the same thing - and you wouldn't necessarily even need to have multiple subdirectories to do country-based separation either (making it easier for users).

Good stuff, best of luck! If you need some help just reply back here.

Also, there is a multi-site addon that could accomplish similarly to what you are trying to do - it's a tad pricey but it does a lot of what was previously discussed here (mainly in terms of a shared user database, and creating separate forums) - https://xenforo.com/community/resources/xencentral-multisite-system-2.6966/

Hello, ive made some research on topic and find out that xencentral multisite works only with forums that are work on subdomains - my case on folders on one domain dont fit it (link https://xenforo.com/community/threa...-wordpress-based-website.129545/#post-1153370)

Also checked other options such as social groups by nobita from Alfa1's suggestion it the same thread but it also dont suit my needs also because bunch of extra funtcionality which i dont need. So im really stuck on now trying to figure out what solution need to use.

So i guess what i need now is to decide what kind of structure to use

single domain
domain.com - kind of static page or bridge theme ? im not fully understand what bridge really doing is

domain.com/ru/forum1 - separate installation and db
domain.com/ua/forum2 - separate installation and db
domain.com/kz/forum3 - separate installation and db

multiple subdomain
domain.com - static page or forum page with all nodes and links to separate forums
ru.domain.com/forum1 - forum installation with xencentral
ua.domain.com/forum2 - forum installation with xencentral
kz.domain.com/forum3 - forum installation with xencentral

i lean on a single domain structure becasue on domain factor which helps to rank faster on different regions

do i get it right? strongly need advice from xenforo communiity experts on what structure to choose in case of management/moderation, scalabilty, seo friendlyness and ease of maintenance.

thanks!

Update:

So ive bought few license and done my installations on a single domain

I have main page https://findozor.net/ that will address users from different regions to appropriate subfolders. Not its autoredirecting to /ru subfolder, because i still dont have idea - how i need users to be redirected - automatically by ip or let em choose in popup menu what subfolder (country) they want to visit.

Subolders now (each with its own forum installation. decided to avoid using 3rd party single db managin addons - many doubts of having adequate support and any future proof)
https://findozor.net/ua/ For ukranian users
https://findozor.net/ru/ For russian users
https://findozor.net/kz/ For kazakhstan users (under maintanance atm)

And now i met one more specific issue i didnt really thought about and it was unobvius to me so i want to warn xenforo buyers to have multiple installations on a single domain. I dont really think this issue is solvable - still didnt found soultion.

Cookie collision

The problem is in having collision with cookie files from different installations - cookies constantly being overwitten when switching beetween diffirenent forums so i cant technicall being logged on on admin panel or account except a single forum. So when i login on russian forum my cookies update and instantly log off on other forums.

I dont have any other option now besides managing forums from 3 different browsers thats really not the great user experience.
