Hey everyone,
We're in the early stages of building a new community and are trying to find the best balance between user experience and data collection.
We want to keep the initial registration page super simple — just the basics like username, password, email, etc. But once a user completes that first step and is successfully registered, we want to take them to a step two page that asks for more info — things like their role, company size, interests, etc. We’re using custom profile fields for this.
The key is:
Has anyone come across a workaround, plugin, or add-on that allows for this type of flow? Or maybe a creative solution using route filters or custom pages?
Really appreciate any tips or directions you can share!

The key is:
- The user should already be registered after step one (we don’t want to risk losing them if they abandon partway).
- But we want to immediately prompt them with this "Tell us more about you" step before they land on the forum homepage.
- Ideally with a “Skip for now” option, like many social platforms offer.
