    Hi there,

I have a VB Board running in the directory domain/forum/
In the directory domain/XF I have Xenforo installed to make all the configurations and edits I need. After all is completed I want to move my XF installation to the VB directory and import all posts, members etc. and make sure that url redirects are working fine.

What is the best way to do that? Thank you for any help.

Changing directories is easy. Just move the files or rename the directories appropriately. Then update this setting:

Admin CP -> Home -> Options -> Basic Board Information -> Board URL

For the import you should take a backup first so you can revert if you need to run the import multiple times in testing. You want to avoid running the same import multiple times on the same installation because there is no easy way to deal with duplicate content.

Thanks Jake, so do I have to remove all files from my VB directory first and then move the XF files there? and do I have to change the path in admincp of XF first before I move the files to the vb directory?

    Thank you

You can rename 'forum' to something else like 'vb' and then rename 'XF' to 'forum'

I always update the path in the ACP first and then rename the directory.
