SSO functionality between two XF installations is not working

Hello,

I was testing the SSO functionality between two (test) XF installations and couldn't make them work.

An error occurred while connecting with XenForo. Please try again later.

It throws the above error on the last step i.e. after clicking the Authorize button.

What I've done so far:

• Setup two XF installations running the same 2.3.0 RC5 version in two sub-directories within the same domain
• Followed the step-by-step instructions given by @Chris D on the HYS thread

During the initial few 2.3 beta versions, my installations were affected by another SSO bug that were fixed after which I could access the 'Authorize access to your account' page. Since then this error has been occurring.

If the XF team needs the test credentials of both my test installations to recreate the issue, I am willing to share them.
