Design issue Moving thread causes forum category to show as unread

I have an RSS feed that posts threads in a private forum. I review the new posts, then move them to the appropriate public forum section. After doing such, the forum section I moved the post to shows as having unread posts.

When I click on the forum, I see there are no unread posts. I have repeatedly encountered this issue and can easily duplicate it.

This is how the system works and isn't a bug.

Yeah, you can see it here all the time (with the bugs forum), but it's not possible to fix.

I would think there is some logic possible such as

If forum has unread thread then forum icon = unread, else forum icon = read

If it is more complex that that's ok.
