XF 1.3 Migrating database and posts

Hello,

My friend is trying to migrate the XenForo.sql database from his old site to his new one, as well as migrate old posts. Yet when he attempts to direct to the old database he gets this message:

"This site is in the process of upgrading"

He installed the site with a fresh database.

Hello, I am the person in charge of the site. I have been letting dek give me technical assistance for it. Recently we shut down an old website and attempted to use the backup from that site on our new one, except it wouldn't work. So then we just installed the latest version of XF and attempted to switch the db back to the one we had used on our old site, only for it to say "This site is in the process of upgrading", likely becuase of the different install version.

Did you attempt to import a database from a previous version?

If so, that's not possible.

A simple solution would be to upgrade the database to the same version.

How do I upgrade the database?

Upload the new files, run the upgrade.

If the database is not currently part of an active installation, create a new one with the same version, then upgrade or import it.
