MG 1.1 MG not showing on sidebar

I checked the options in the backend as shown in the screenshot, but the media doesn't show on the sidebar:

However, if I use the widget method described here, it shows up fine:

I've checked permissions and the settings, but I'm unsure why the first option above isn't working. Thanks.

Exactly -- if you use Widget Framework, this overwrites your default sidebar, and therefore none of the options for sidebar blocks will work (though the top and bottom ones will). The only solution is to add them as widgets manually.
