XF 1.5 memcache error plus very high server load

Have been getting this error all day from XF:

Memcache::get(): Server localhost (tcp 11211) failed with: Failed reading value response body (0)5 minutes ago - library/Zend/Cache/Backend/Memcached.php:180

PLUS my server load has been through the roof today. Normally below one, has been 10 to 30 all day long.

Any help is appreciated.

The load issue is more likely to be the cause of the Memcache errors than the other way around. As for diagnosing the load cause, you'll need to look at things like "top", MySQL's process list, and logs to determine if there's a particular cause. It may just be significantly increased traffic.
