Member's Reception to xenForo?

If by "cooties" you mean incredible magnetism and irresistible charm, you are correct.

But, yeah, original topic...someone in another thread said, "Change it overnight and then deny that you have changed anything," and I think that's a policy to consider. I like it anyway.

I was under the impression that forums lived or died based on the topic(s), discussions and users.

Seems to me that a change in software will only interest your existing users for a short time. A new user is going to judge it the way they always have; on the quality and relevance of the content.

Let me put it this way: I've been a member of the vBulletin community for about five years, and I have 300-something posts over there. I joined this one on July 31st merely out of curiosity - to see the software everyone was talking about, with no intention of sticking around - and right now I have 500-something posts. The topic of both boards: the software. So you tell me ... why am I posting about 1000%* more on this board about software (that I'm not even using yet) than on the other board about software (which I've been using for about five years)? Content? Or something else?

*I'm just guessing there, my math sucks.

I agree with some of the posts I've seen so far, asking them about switching would just lead to huge debates and fights, and at the end of the day I think switching is what's best for the community so I'd probably not take their opinions into consideration.
