Since we have our new board closed is there a way to let registered users in?

We created them as registered users, but not admins and we'd like to let a few certain in.

Is that possible with the board closed?

If I do this as a test forum and don’t want to mess with user group permissions, I just password protect that directory using cpanel

Only administrators can access closed forums, so it would have to be done with .htaccess password auth, as stated.

What is the easiest way to do that for multiple users?

You just provide the credentials for them to log in - it's the same user and password for everyone.

Once through the .htaccess auth, they then log in to the forum normally.

Just keep the forum open but in password protected directory as mentioned, and give those sect few the password

Or do it with a usergroyp permission
