Downloads Manager is a standalone file-distribution app for XenForo 2.3+ that treats
every release as a first-class object with multi-file versions, dependencies, and external URL upload support. Control access with stackable gates including permission, password, hotlink, CAPTCHA, rate-limit, and bandwidth, and give authors built-in analytics, native comments and reviews, and per-download teams...

Currently working on an XFRM and IC4 Downloads Importer to reduce barrier to entry.

If anyone has any interest, I could use some data to test the imports with.

I see some interesting features, do you have a demo site?

I don't think I saw it mentioned, but is it possible to sell products? If so, after a purchase, is it possible to automatically and randomly generate a license?

Otherwise, great work!

I do not currently have a payment system integrated with this. That's basically a whole other product on top of itself.

It is something on my mind, but I would prefer to wait until the product matures.

And, I do not currently have a demo site setup, as XenForo requires a separate license purchase for a demo site.

However, I can get one setup on my support site later today.

Okay, I understand your position on the payment method.

I'm thinking of buying it in the future if you add payment profiles, or even sooner if I manage to find a project to work on.

I'm not forcing you to put it on your support site; I just wanted to get a more direct overview, but if you don't have it, that's fine. The screenshots are very clear.

Thank you so much for this information. I'll think about a potential project for it if there's an opportunity to use it, because I really love the design and features shown in the screenshots!

Yeah, the main challenge with adding payment profiles is that the Downloads Manager is designed for community submission, not just the site owner offering downloads.

I would have to consider building a payment system that incorporates all users.

I'm definitely considering it, but I can't justify putting the work into that type of system until there's more sales and interest.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

I'm going to buy it to support you, I really like the usefulness of this add-on.

Even though I will have to adjust some things on my end by playing with the user update in order to be able to access downloads via the API.

My name on your support site is Pacifiquateur, I should buy it soon.

I appreciate the support! I will say, If it doesn't meet your needs, there's no pressure to purchase.

As it stands currently, there are numerous ways to lock downloads behind many types of criteria, one of which is user groups. Meaning you can lock downloads behind user upgrades as one way.

Overall, it meets my requirements. What I would need is a limit on the number of licenses per user (e.g., 1 product per user), payment profiles, and automatic license generation (if this option isn't already available).

I mainly use the API and I see that the API meets my expectations perfectly! What's great is that the documentation is explicit and the API returns detailed responses.

1.0.5

A new version has been released with one new feature and various bug fixes
  • New Feature: We have introduced dead link probing. When an external URL is linked instead of fetched (uploaded), we now periodically (admin configurable) probe external files for dead links.
    • New dead links admin page to triage warning + hidden files, withstate/search filters and bulk recheck.
    • AdminCP dashboard notice when any files are flagged.
    • Authors (and co-owners ) receive alerts on each...

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't have the option to allow product downloads based on user criteria. While it's possible to select by category, it's not possible to filter by download type.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, I'll rephrase my question as a suggestion.

You have to create a Criteria gate and then select what categories that criteria gate applies to.

All downloads under that selected category or categories will be gated by that criteria gate.

The option is available by category, but let's say I want one download for members and another for moderators, how can I do that without creating another category and making a duplicate? The option is available by category, but let's say I want one download for members and another for moderators, how can I do that without creating another category and making a duplicate?
Let me explain:
In my case, I have a "PC" category. I want to make a software downloadable only to Premium members.
Within this same category, I want to create a download, but this time only for VIP members.
How can I do this without creating a second "PC" category?

At the same time, I noticed a bug with the UI.X themes on mobile. The sidebar is visible on the default theme, but it's not visible on the UI.X themes.
In other words, the ratings, download information, etc., are not visible on the UI.X themes.

Currently, there is not a way to use criteria gates for individual downloads. It's only set for within categories for now. I was considering that when designing criteria gates, but opted only for categories for now.

I will add that as a consideration for the next version. If you could, please create a suggestion thread on my support site for easy tracking.

I should have a UI.X license from way back, let me get that installed and I'll have a look.

Importers are now available

We have finally released our importers for Downloads Manager. Importers are available as a separate add-on for customers free of charge.

Two sources are supported:
  • XenForo Resource Manager (2.3 or newer) on the same site. Resources, versions, files, custom fields, prefixes, reviews, watchers, tags, icons and discussion thread links are all carried across.
  • Invision Community 4 (Downloads) from a separate installation. The importer connects to your IC4 database, reads...

You’ve done a great job. This was an add-on I really needed years ago, but now that AI has made Excel obsolete, my site is no longer needed either :)
I didn’t see it in the demo—is there a countdown option based on groups when downloading?
Are there any statistics sections (widgets or pages) for downloaded content?
Can the admin see who downloaded a file?
