marked text disappears when quoting

not sure if this is an Editor issue or a bug or whatever... or if this is just perfectly fine, but this just happened:


reproduction-process:

1)
enter some text into your "quick reply box" at the bottom of a thread.

2)
mark a portion of that text with your mouse, so that the text is marked blue.

3)
now click onto the Reply-Link to "quote" the previous post ("quote" the post which is above your "quick reply box").

4)
the marked text in your "quick reply box" disappears.

Of course it gets replaced. That's normal behavior.

Ummm... that's because you're just highlighting it with your mouse... for if you want to delete it, or copy it .. or bold, italic etc etc etc . . . so by clicking reply, you're telling the browser to delete the highlighted text and replace it with the quoted text via reply
