Is there option to mark single forum read, or mark selected threads as read?

The [Mark Forums Read] link in the navigation, when viewing the forum.

That works!

I thought that link was for marking ALL forums read only due to the plural.

It's contextual.

When viewing the forum index it's just for all forums.
When viewing a forum you have the option of that forum, or all forums.

Maybe a dumb question: why is this functionality not standard yet?
