Unfortunately there's not a great deal we can do to resolve this. It's worth noting that this mostly affects Windows and other OS' approach to font scaling and zooming does not have this problem.
I certainly understand the need to zoom in to make reading more legible and easier on the eyes, but in some cases you may have to accept that it could have adverse effects on certain on screen elements. As an alternative to font scaling / zooming, changing the resolution to a lower resolution may solve all problems (text could be at 100% but will appear bigger).
