Design issue Managing 'following..' box doesn't update

Probably working as designed, but it's not the desired effect.

On the profile > following .. you get an overlay.
Clicking on an avatar will close the overlay, and it will open the member card.
Clicking on unfollow, and then closing the membercard, you will have to re-open the following overlay, but the user isn't removed.

Can't we unfollow directly within the overlay?
Can't it remember who we just unfollowed, and update the list?

That's because the page isn't refreshed and the updated data hasn't been fetched.

This really can't be fixed - overlays are cached once they're loaded (unless told otherwise). As what I'm talking about is a more general topic, I'm going to call this a design issue.
