Looking forward now to 1.1

Kier mentioned earlier that he didn't know which would come first: 1.0.4 or the public beta for 1.1. So now that 1.0.4 is out, it seems likely that the 1.1 beta rollout will be happening soon. Hopefully we'll get at least a feature update and new pics in the very near future. It will be interesting to see what other surprises are in store.

1.0.4 also came out fairly fast behind 1.0.3 because of circumstances that were mainly affecting the +1/Facebook buttons. For now I'd say it's a matter of 1.0.5 coming out before 1.1. ;)

Also looking forward to 1.1, but to be honest I do like the way in which things are released here ...... Slowly(ish) and stable. Would be nice to have an update on what to expect, however doesnt bother me too much as I'd confident in the fact that it will have been well thought through. Makes a damn change from forum software over the past couple of years.

Kier actually posted a small screenshot of what thread PREFIXES will look like. :)

But that was a while ago! :p

Also, someone mentioned earlier in the thread about usergroups that are "joinable". I use this feature for political/adult(not porn) forums. So if someone wants to see those threads in whats new or search, they can join said usergroup and get that information. Don't want those threads, don't join those groups. At least that is how I use it on VB right now.

* edit - thanks forsaken

Well we already know what to expect with 1.1. :)

1.0.x you can expect bug fixes.

do "Prefixes" allow a country list, in an order like category and sub-category? So that the user can first select the continent and then the country or city?

I mean something like this:

-United States
----Alabama
----California
----Washington

- Europe
----Belgium
----Germany
----Poland

That's the functions of subforums. Once you have multilayer subforum structure, prefix won't help.

I was curious to see if I can replace my subforums (a dozen or so) by prefix and I came to the realization that I can easily give permission to a certain usergroup to a subforum while I don't see how that is done with prefix.

Also, I can easily give the url of a certain subforum, RSS feed. It's harder to do that when you use prefix.
