Maybe because their websites IP origin is China/Hongkong.

On the face of it, though, it doesn't seem to make sense. Why put OpenLiteSpeed in front of nginx?

No, Nginx and Tengine are just optional front end.
OpenLitespeed is the default back end.

Ah. I guess that makes a little more sense, though I would still think there isn't much benefit to running nginx or Tengine in front of OpenLiteSpeed (or running OpenLiteSpeed in front of nginx).
