Fixed Links appear immediately after a pasting

When I paste a link in a thread, it automatically generates a link (before saving). I must have inadvertently turned something on, but I can't find out where and it is driving me crazy. Does anybody know what is controlling this behavior?

There were changes in recent versions of Chrome which introduced this behaviour, and there was something similar happening with iOS at one point.

We added some changes in XF 2.1.1 to attempt to workaround this though, and for me they are generally working.

You seem to be running XF 2.1.1 right now. Is this still happening?

If so, can you let us know which browser/OS/versions you are using?

Yes, and the only way to avoid this pitfall is to right-click and select "paste as plain text" This seems to work, and it also allows the unFURL to work properly. If not, it will place the URL tags in for you.

Latest version of Chrome 64bit on Window 10 Pro

Version 73.0.3683.86 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I tried a link on IE Edge, and FireFox and it does the same thing

The changes we made do work, but there seems to be some issues with it working on Windows. I'll move this to bugs.
