less people will often click on the drop down menu, it's not a good place,

lots of people click on tabs, its easier, for filters its ok the drop down menu, but not for "sort by"

Sorry, I disagree.

Most of the "Sort by" filter-items are already available in the SubNavBar.
If you would introduce "Tabs" in addition to this, it would be double-dipping as the same items will be available twice (or even more times) at the page.
This would clutter up the whole page and design.


Just remove the default "background-image" from the SubNavBar and the items will be better visible:
background: #65a5d1 url("styles/default/xenforo/gradients/navigation-tab.png")
The real issue are these "gradient images" which xenforo is using, which makes the items in the SubNavBar hardly visible. But it is an easy CSS-change if you want to remove it...

check again my image, there is nothing in the subnav-tab

tabs are everywhere, xenforo people remove tabs only 2 places,

it was a mistake, it is inconvenient


even in this thread we have tabs, why don't they change them?




it would be horrible if they make drop down menu,



tabs are great, useful and easier acces, xenforo have tabs everywhere still

solution, would be in mobile, change to drop down menu, and tabs in big window mode


unless u show me a better way, i am not convinced

i still like tabs better

When editing a category I can't select a prefix. This field> "Automatically created thread prefix" has no prefix's available. I only have one prefix and I want this to appear with every auto generated thread. However my prefix is not showing and the only choice in the drop down is (No Prefix)

- first you need to select a "Forum" here: "Automatically create thread in forum"
- then it will show the Prefixes at "Automatically created thread prefix" which you have set-up for that specific "Forum".

Yes that is done. The forum selected. but even though I have prefixes, they are not available to select.

"Forum-Prefixes" and "Link-Directory-Prefixes" are 2 different entities.
You need to set-up Prefixes for both the Forum and the LD.

I don't want prefixes in my forum, they are a barrier to newbie posting. I do have two [for sale] and [sold] for our Classifieds forum. But I don't want anymore, if I add a prefix that the LD can use, that means every post forever made in that forum users are presented with a prefix drop down with one choice in it. I don't want that. But when someone posts a link, I would like a prefix to show it for what it is rather than a regular thread. Is this going to be possible?

no, you do not need to have Prefixes in the Forum itself.
As said, Prefixes in the Link-Directory are separated from Prefixes in the Forum.

Therefore, Prefixes which you create in the Link-Directory, will not show up in the Forum-Thread.

I as Admin has to control who is VIP and who not.

I have a similar BUG: When a user creates a link that is MODERATED and the link is approved, NO THREAD IS CREATED (although all settings and permissions allow). I think it corresponds with the above bug report.

Permissions: It looks like users can delete their own links even if the permission "can delete links" is denied. It would be great to make a difference between those cases:

1) Can delete own link
2) Can delete any link

3) Can edit own link
4) Can edit any link

Can we have the outgoing links prefixed by our domain or rewritten to be a redirect?

I would rather have the links look something like this https://mydomain.com/linkto=http://linkout.com or https://mydomain.com/linkto:LINKIDhere

This addon is the only thing causing my HTTPS to not work. Please code in an option to use prefixed or redirected links that come from our own domain.

If you display links in the sidebar through a widget, the VIP links don't bump to the top when a user bumps them.

VIP links should bump to the top on every part of the site so that the VIP users get the most benefit from their VIP status. At least make it an option.

Links to XF sidebar through the addon doesn't display anything for me (no links appeared), but it works as a widget.
