Link Directory (LD) [Deleted]

I also have links that stay in the "Links that need your attention" There is nothing wrong with them.

I noticed the / behind the url can make a difference. It fixed some of them when I removed the /
Thanks for the tip. Will now put a / after each URL that needs to be checked every day. Will let you guys know if this works ;)

For me it was fixed when I removed the /
I think is has something to do with the webserver config on those sites. (not yours) but I'm not sure.

I can confirm that - I did have one - and after reading about @Fred. discovery I altered my link and now the alert is gone.

Code:
update phc_linkdirectory set url = left(url, length(url)-1) where url like '%/';

same here.
I fix them with click on edit and than just hit save (nothing edited).
Strange, indeed, and little gruelling

As it is currently, having the items e.g.: "Recent Likes", "Most Liked", "Most Visited", "Most Ratings" in the "SubNavBar" makes little sense.
Also, have a look at "Recent Likes" in the "SubNavBar" and see where it is linking towards (it is linking to the LD-Homepage).

Once again, lets collectively think about which items really make sense to be listed in the "SubNavBar" and which items actually do not belong there ("Double Dipping").
Compare it with the items which are being used in the "SubNavBar" of the "RM" and the "Media Gallery" and maybe make it somehow similar (as far as possible) ?

I suggest SubNav items of (and in below order);
  • Retain current "Add Link"
  • Add "Search Links" going to /search/?type=ld_links Forums, Resources, Showcase all have this.
  • Add "Recent Links" going to /linkdirectory/?order=dateline&direction=desc
  • Retain current "Most Ratings"
  • Retain current "Your Links (x)"
  • Add "Your Bookmarks" going to /members/username.userid/#ld_bookmarks
  • Retain current "Links Needing Attention"

That will positively ruin this add-on! This is a directory (funny enough), not a review system. You can find a quality review system @ https://xenforo.com/community/resou...gement-system-reviews-guides-garage-etc.1208/ I strongly suggest you check out that if you're wanting a review system.

1. disable thumbnail for every link,
Showcase above is your review system. A Links Directory without thumbnails just defeats the purpose.

1. allow multiple prefixes
Ummm, why? Nowhere else in xf utilises multiple prefixes for an artifact. Defeats the whole purpose of a prefix.

add stats to sidebar
Yup, that's a good one. :)

add stats to sidebar

Yup, that's a good one. :)

I would not even show the "Statistics" to the user.
After all, what is the value of showing the "Number of Categories" or the "Number of Links" to the enduser ?

The Categories are anyway already showing in the Sidebar, as well as how many Links are listed for each Category.....

Unfortunately removing the / at the end of a URL does not fix the 'links to be checked'. Still a lot of them pop up every day.
I can fix them by opening them and saving them again. This is something that also could be encompassed in the CRON script that checks these links, right?

For some of them it works and for others it doesn't work.

Anyone know how, looking at the DB tables, I can tell if a link entry has a screenshot or not (regrdless of whether it came from og, screenshot grab, or upload)
