Add-on 'Like - Reply - Share' for Thread Listing and Recent Activity

When a guest enters a forum that they are denied access too this is the error that occurs. Disabled for now.

I can't replicate this...

If a guest is denied access to a forum then they get a "You do not have permission to view this page" error. Or a login box, depending on the exact settings.

Work has resumed :)

The controls are now put in place with TMS, and now include a Share button which loads the normal permalink overlay with share options.

this image looks nice!

what about also adding "Watch Thread" and "Perma-Link" ?

Like - Reply - Share - Edit - Watch - Perma

It's not impossible. But 8thos is the boss on this one as it's his vision.

Also Permalink = Share link so there's no point in having both.

Can you please add watch? That was a great idea.

Random but I was wondering, what makes the word 'Like' and 'Watch' transform? Is that javascript within an iframe?

Ok. As long as it isn't too difficult :p

AJAX does that magic I think.

Well, you know what I mean.

"Everyone who is contributing is the boss", would have been a better choice of words.

Heh, sorry. Forgot my smilies.. o_O :cautious:

Started an argument on FB, came back and posted without finishing.

Anywho, I have sent more funds in, looking forwards to the next BETA, still never installed the first one yet...

Yes, I have TMS.
Good. The add-on will require it to avoid some pretty ghastly regular expressions to inject template code thanks to a lack of some template hooks.

I know Mouth has it, because he posted his list of add-ons for me earlier. And I know 8thos does.

So, that's good.

@8thos - it might be worth putting it in the request description somewhere that it will require TMS (y)

Bit of an important question about functionality of the Recent Activity List.

The Recent Activity List is built up (obviously) based on a number of different actions such as "like", e.g. "Chris Deeming liked a status update" or "Chris Deeming liked a post". Then there's "insert" e,g, "Chris Deeming replied to a thread" etc.

So, upon which items do we want the "Like Reply Share... and Watch) links to appear?

Technically someone liking a piece of content isn't a piece of content in its own right. You can't like that someone has liked a post. You can't reply to a like. You can't share a like, etc.

So my thinking is, in the Recent Activity list, the Like Reply Share and Watch functions should only appear where it is relevant and appropriate.

The other option is that the buttons appear on every item in the list.

Any thoughts?
