[Liam W] (RIP) Member Self Delete

[Liam W] (RIP) Member Self Delete 2.0.5 Patch Level 7

No permission to download
No, they should not be able to delete posts.

What is the url of the page where they can delete their account?
Ah sorry, I meant "Delete own account", not post :)
There is a group permission which you probably didn't set for the user group.

I changed that so they have permission. But Im still getting reports from users who have 0 posts and get no permission error when they click the link.
I dont know if it matters but I do have @Xon 's User Essentials installed, which also has account disabling features.

I keep getting complaints from users that cannot self-delete their account. Permission analysis shows they have permission to self delete. I don't see anything in the criteria to block it. One member mentioned they got a message about their account age blocking deletion.
I found the phrase:
You cannot delete your account. This may because of your account age, the amount of content you have posted or a variety of other reasons. Please contact a board administrator for more information.
Is there a setting somewhere related to account age? The user deletion log shows no self deletions.

Is this addon compatible with @Xon 's User Essentials and its self disable account feature?

At some point this addon stopped actually deleting. The process kicks off and I even get a thread auto created but on the date there's no deletion of the accounts. This is on 2.3.9. No idea when it stopped working but I suspect prior to 2.3.9. @Painbaker you still helping with this one?

I had it setup to disable rather than delete and it did work for a while.

I truly believe it’s time this functionality becomes part of the XenForo core.

@Chris D:

Considering GDPR (Article 17) requirements, users should have a native, streamlined way to manage their right to erasure. The Grace Period logic from Liam’s add-on is particularly brilliant - it ensures compliance while preventing "rage-quits" and reducing manual admin workload.

Native user self-deletion with a configurable cooling-off period would be a massive win for privacy and community management alike. Any chance we'll see something like this in a future XF update?

Still working fine on 2.3.9 and now 2.3.10. Users requesting account removal are deleted correctly after the time period.

Do you use the "delete" or just the "disable" option in the backend of the add on for the users? The complaint by @ichpen refers to the "delete" option.
Just FYI using the "disable" option in this add-on would not be GDPR compliant, you would need to actually "delete" to be GDPR compliant.

Plenty of US states have similar laws with right to be forgotten. California, Texas, Colorado, Utah, etc, etc.

Pretty much across the whole western world running Xenforo without this addon is illegal. I don't understand how after all these years - GDPR has now been around for almost a decade - this is still not core Xenforo functionality.

I explicitly said "Users requesting account removal are deleted correctly after the time period.", so yes I was referring to the "delete" option.
