WARNING: This operation, at least for the files part, must be repeated after each upgrade of the Media Gallery as these are manual modifications.

Some time ago, I had posted an answer inside a thread stating how to keep the aspect ratio for thumbnails in the Media Gallery.

As this tutorial is not up-to-date for the latest version of the Media Gallery, I felt it would be better to post this as a resource.

Explanations here below are valid for XFMG 1.1.12.
