XF 1.2 Just some pointers to import?

Alright I have read through all these guides on importing and all, I've more or less understood most of the issues at hand.

I have a vbulletin install in /forum/ folder on server.

- Can I upload and install xen on lets say /xen/
- Run the importer
- Then just rename the folders?

Do I need to keep anything in mind or is there any better method to go about this?

Also using VbSEO will try the redirection script after the import has been done I guess.

Yes, you can do that.

You would also need to update the board URL in the ACP.

Don't forget to take a backup after you're done configuring, etc.
You can keep that as your clean master if you need to redo the import.

I plan to take a full server backup before starting the import process, just to be on the safe hand. I'm assuming you are talking of taking a backup of the clean db of xen before the import?

Yes, exactly that.

If you need to redo the import from scratch you can just restore that and won't have to redo any of your prep'.
