just ate raw eggs

It's so weird how a small thing like Sylvester Stallone drinking those eggs in Rocky sparked such a worldwide debate about raw eggs! I always think, what's the point in having them raw? It's unpleasant and if you really are that desperate for an intake of protein, just get a protein shake. It won't have all the cholesterol that 4 - 5 raw eggs has either. Or just have them cooked, as they taste tonnes better!

Besides, eating them raw is just going to increase the risk of contracting salmonella and tonnes of other stuff, which I'm sure no-one wants. I found this article which goes into a bit more detail about some of the health risks - http://www.iwantasixpack.com/is-eating-raw-eggs-safe/
LMAO

I did something new today - tried raw milk. That's milk straight from the cow into a bottle (no pasteurisation, no homogenisation, no filtering). It's not easy to get here in the UK, you can only get it direct from a farm and even then "demand is outstripping supply". Obviously you need to balance up the potential health risks, which the farms will claim are minimal in modern dairy set ups. Anyway it was delicious :) Just like normal milk but creamier.

Am surprised you didn't spew it all up.

My family has a farming background for generations, none of them ever died drinking milk from a cow and a few of the older ones still alive won't touch pasteurized milk.

Haven't had raw egg in years. Though I always prefer toasted soldiers with a few runny eggs topped with sea salt and butter. I buy this quality milk which is a dollar more but it comes with cream floating at the top. Bloody delish.

That just sounds like full-fat milk to me LOL (or blue top as it's "affectionately" called around here).

That's whole milk here, which isn't what I'm referring to. I'm referring to milk that comes out of the cow, pasteurized and then into containers. The cream is off white and is like softened butter. It only comes in thick glass containers. Here's what it looks like. I assure you it's quite the delectable treat. I don't know why this is in plastic... There's also European style yogurt, which is not really what I've had when I traveled extensively through Europe for work. It's a firmish yogurt that's covered by a cream rich (similar to below) yogurt that's like eating a rich, buttery, tangy custard.

I think that might be an acquired taste :D

The cream at the top of the milk container? Nah. It just tastes like butter, a bit sweet. Actually, it tastes exactly like sweet cream butter made by the French. It doesn't taste anything like Kerrygold, if that's what you're thinking. None of that sour taste.

No, it just looks awful to me. I'd open that and throw it out as being curdled. I'm a bit funny about things like that. :)

Not heard toasted shoulders mentioned for a long time. Reminds me of chucky egg. An egg with butter, then mashed with a fork in a cup.

You're such a weirdo, Azh. :p

Oh wow, I didn't think anyone would know that and didn't bother typing it out. Chucky egg is something everyone in my family has eaten for at least 80 years when they've had a rough cough or sore throat. 3-4 very soft boiled eggs, room temperature butter and salt. You just eat it by spoon and let the egg coat your throat. Helps a lot.
